Insurance

All insurance companies offer some plans that cover acupuncture and we happily do all insurance and 3rd party payer billing for you. If you would like to know if your specific plan covers acupuncture, and exactly what those benefits are, we’ll happily do a benefits check for you by phone or via the form below.

Call us at (510) 457-8886 during business hours and have your insurance information handy. Or, submit your information through the form below and someone will respond by the end of the business day. We are happy to answer any questions you might have.

We are in-network providers with these insurance companies:

  • Affinity Medical Group
  • Blue Shield of California
  • Hill Physicians Medical Group
  • Sutter Health, UMR Plans
  • TriWest Healthcare Alliance (proudly serving VA patients)
  • United Healthcare

Many other plans may also cover acupuncture at our clinic, including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna and U.C. Berkeley students through Berkeley SHIP.

For a detailed benefits check, please submit the following:

Acupuncture for Veterans

If you are a United States Veteran, acupuncture at our clinic may be approved through your Veteran’s Affair physician. We take part in Veteran’s Choice Program (PC3) and are in-network providers with TriCare/TriWest Alliance, the medical group offering off-site medical care for veterans. The V.A. covers all of the cost, but visits must be approved in advance. Please contact us below for details or if you want assistance in getting treatments approved. Licensed acupuncturist Sean Michael Hall comes from a family of veterans, specializes in treating pain and orthopedic issues, and is proud to serve our vets.

Workers’ Compensation

Workers’ Compensation insurance usually covers 100% of necessary medical treatment for injuries resulting from work-related injuries. Often, up to 24 visits may be approved, usually six sessions at a time. If you have an open Workers’ Compensation claim acupuncture treatments are usually approved. We are happy to contact the physician or the adjuster managing your case if you would like assistance getting acupuncture approved.

Personal Injury Cases

We accept Personal Injury cases. If you’ve been involved in a motor vehicle accident and have an open claim you can have your acupuncture visits here paid in full. If your plan includes Med Pay, they will pay 100% of all necessary medical care for injuries sustained, regardless of fault. We bill the insurance company directly, so you don’t have to pay out-of-pocket or spend time on the phone working with the insurance company. If you would like assistance confirming acupuncture coverage feel free to contact us below.

Please contact us with any questions or concerns you might have. We do all insurance billing for you, and are happy to help get visits approved via Veteran’s Affairs or open Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury cases.
